Working closely with the Website Merchandiser, VP of Marketing and Director of eCommerce, I develop the copy for sees.com—the homepage, product copy, landing pages, content slots, ordering and shipping functionality, etc. While See’s has a separate Social Media writing team, I’m happy to jump in whenever they ask for copy!

 

WEBSITE IMPROVEMENTS

We revamped sees.com to improve user experience from the homepage through to the checkout process. I contributed to early strategy discussions, provided copy and led the review and proofreading efforts. To uphold the consistency of these improvements into the future, I also developed a Web Copy Style Guide as a copy resource for the department.

POP-UP MODALS

Working with the Creative Director’s new layouts, I distilled the copy down to relevant info, clear CTAs and hints of branding.

To promote our online Custom Mix feature, we create a new content slot for every season.


 

SECONDARY WEBSITES

In addition to sees.com, See’s has websites for Fundraising, Yum-Raising, Business Gifts and Group Discounts. While crafting the copy I was responsible for creating a consistent brand voice tailored to each audience. We updated these websites along with sees.com for a better customer experience across all channels.

Fundraising

Consistent with changes to our Business Gifts homepage but with more complex functionality needed, we combined three CTAs into each of two main categories.

Yum-Raising

Because See’s fundraising programs were notoriously cumbersome, Yum-Raising was created as an easier fundraising alternative with a focus on great service, ease of use, and instant profits.

 

CAREERS PAGE

We also completely redesigned the See’s careers page. I was involved in concepting, competitor research, creating the messaging, interviewing employees, contributing to the art direction, and collaborating closely with Marketing, Human Resources and other partners throughout the process.


 

PRODUCT COPY FOR WORLDMARKET.COM

In my four years at Cost Plus World Market, I wrote for a huge variety of products, working with Merchandisers across the company from food and wine, to furniture and decor, to apparel and jewelry. I wrote a significant amount of PDP copy (here are some samples below) and also was the lead copywriter in charge of editing the work of our freelance writers, as well as working with the Marketing department as the lead writer for in store signage, print collateral, and e-Commerce.


 

SOCIAL MEDIA COPY FOR SEE’S CANDIES

We have an in-house social media writing team at See’s, but I made myself available to help whenever they needed support—it’s one of my favorite copywriting channels! I generally provide 4-5 options for each brief and the social team selects their favorites. Here are a few of the posts I wrote:
